SHARC welcomes a landmark moment for lived and living experience leadership. The Victorian government has released a Lived and Living Experience Leadership Framework for 2026–2036.
The framework sets out a 10-year vision for strengthening lived and living experience leadership across the mental health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), harm reduction, gambling harm and suicide prevention sectors.
SHARC’s CEO, Clare Davies, said it was important to acknowledge everyone who had been instrumental in developing the framework.
“Consumers and people across sectors have come together on this initiative,” she said.
“In the wake of the Royal Commission, there is a deeper understanding of each other’s histories and movements which allows us to stand together.
“Our community can expect to see SHARC, and others, continue to advocate for the implementation of this framework.”
While the measure of success will be how the framework is put into practice over the next decade, SHARC welcomes this step forward.
People with lived and living experience bring expertise that belongs not only as a seat at the table – but in leadership roles that shape systems, services and decisions that affect our communities.
